History

In late 2002, a group of experienced singers from the Manchester area, led by their enthusiasm for exploring and performing music regularly together, decided to form a choir. Manchester Chamber Choir was born.

The inaugural concert at Holy Innocents, Fallowfield, under the direction of Stephen Williams was a great success and was followed by a memorable performance of Bach, Finzi and Praetorius in the glorious acoustic of Blackburn Cathedral, under the direction of Richard Tanner. This was repeated as part of the Buxton Festival Fringe, again to wide acclaim in the summer of 2003.

Ever since we have continued to perform to consistently high standards under a variety of Conductors. Both in concert performance and in broadcasts on Radio 4 and BBC1

The choir now enjoys a growing reputation for a capella concerts and has worked with many leading choral conductors in the North West.
