Manchester Chamber Choir enjoys a growing reputation for its a capella concerts and involvement with a range of innovative projects.

This season the choir's engagements have included a Christmas programme in Malton Yorkshire with John Powell, Handel Messiah with Malcolm Layfield in Wales and Manchester, and Bach St Matthew Passion with Richard Tanner in Blackburn.

Recently, within a period of 6 weeks, the choir has appeared in Hildegarde von Bingen Ordo Virtutum with Vox Animae, the Labour Party Leadership Conference, and in the inaugural performance of William Orbit Orchestral Suite with the BBC Philharmonic and Alexander Shelly, all at the Bridgewater Hall.  The William Orbit piece will also be broadcast on Radio 3 and released as a CD.

Other events include:

  • Mendelssohn Elijah as part of the Ryedale festival under the baton of Justin Doyle
  • An appearance at the Chester Festival with Frances Cooke
  • A recording for Chandos
  • Recording for BBC Radio 2
